
The System II Cart allows precise and correct positioning and orientation of implants and screws even in difficult anatomic situations. System Preface The first labeled Stryker Navigation System was launched 2001. Since this several technical and software related upgrades and modifications in design took place to camera and/or cart. “System II” covers a complete appearance of the navigation unit including a generation of infra-red camera technology. The design reflects the experience Stryker gained in navigation and the technological development.

The Smart Tools The first instrumentation developed specifically for image guided surgery. Software control from the hand-piece gives the surgeon control of the patients image data. An assistant is not required to run the system during the operation. Features such as automatic image fusion, functional planning and anatomical fiducial registration are included. Two way communication between the Smart Tools and the system assures accurate identification and surgical navigation. System II provides multiple benefits in the OR - flexibility of OR setup with a larger field of view; accessibility of functions while in the OR field; reliability with autoclavable Smart Tools and durability with specific tools.
